Hollywood: No new ideas?

Is it just me, or is the movie industry quickly running out of original movie ideas. It happens every year, but this year it seems to be particularly acute. Let me demonstrate with some of this years releases.

Sex & the City - Based on TV Show
The Incredible Hulk - Based on a Comic/TV Show
The Dark Knight - Based on a Comic
Get Smart - Based on a TV Show
Hellboy 2: The Golden Army - Based on a Comic/Sequel
X-Files: I want to believe - Based on TV Show/Sequel
Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor - Sequel
High School Musical 3: Senior Years - Sequel (Why...why...WHY???)
Saw V - Sequel

Don't get me wrong, it can be fun to see some of our old favorites again, but this is kinda excessive. Plus, we'll be seeing tons of Remakes in 2009. Please, Hollywood. Give us something new. Give us a year or two not dominated by sequels and remakes and throwbacks and so on!
